When reaching certain Apex level you unlock new raids. These raids have a possibility to drop special Apex equipment. This equipment can be equipped just as regular equipment. However there are is also a new possibility to make Apex equipment. By going to your backpack and clicking the upgrade button on equipment at level 80 red quality they will be improved to Apex level. This upgrade path is special as this Apex equipment can be upgraded even further. Apex equipment earned from raids are not able to be upgraded only equipment that was upgraded from level 80 equipment can be upgraded this way. Upgrading cost Sage Crystal which can be made using the Synthesize feature found at the Forge.

When your equipment is upgraded to Apex you can upgrade them even further. To do this click the upgrade button on your Apex equipment from your backpack and a new window will open. To level up Apex equipment you can use unwanted equipment or items such as Poison Orbs. At level 5 and 10 the upgrade will require a specific equipment piece that can be earned in Apex Raids. Upgrading these pieces also cost Sage Crystal Core which can be made using the Synthesize feature found at the Forge.
